Toilets Now Used As Hiding Spots For Illegal Brew

The ongoing crackdown of illicit brew in the country has forced brewers of the alcohol to think up new ways of ensuring their drink is safe from the crackdown.

In Kapsabet town, Nandi County officers were shocked to discover that the brewers were now hiding the alcohol in toilets.

The ingenious, yet unhealthy way of hiding the brew was discovered on Friday night when Kapsabet Assistant County Commissioner Stella Wanyella led officers in an impromptu search.

Over 500 boxes of illicit liquor worth over Ksh500, 000 was recovered in the crackdown.

According to officers in the area, a cartel was running the business of selling the outlawed brew.

Reports indicate that the cartel was not only using public toilets as hiding spots but was also seling the brew from the toilets.

Residents had reported that the brew was now being sold at night to avoid detection and arrest.

This comes even as the president insisted that the crackdown will continue.

Speaking in Muranga, on Saturday, Kenyatta said that the government will soon start mechanisms to rehabilitate youth you have been affected by alcohol addiction.

He said that the National Government will work with counties to start programs that will empower youth who had been rendered economically unproductive by the consumption of illegal alcohol.
