Kenyans on social media were Wednesday engaging in various debates among them a new announcement by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Here is why these topics were trending:
This topic was trending after the IEBC announced it had terminated a Sh3 Billion tender for the installation of an Integrated Elections Management System that was meant secure the August 8 polls.
According, to the IEBC CEO, the cancellation, which triggered various reactions online, was due to time constraints.
"Given the remaining legal steps to conclude the tender, it will be almost impossible for the commission to execute its mandate within the statutory timelines," the CEO said.
A majority of online users expressed concern that the IEBC is not prepared to handle the upcoming polls.
Under the hashtag #WorldWaterday online users were celebrating the World Water day.
This hashtag was trending after lawyer and former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party member Gitobu Imanyara joined the Maendeleo Chap Chap party.
Imanyara is seeking to recapture the Central Imenti MP seat.
