Uhuru Did Not Give Me Money - ODM MP

Likoni Member of Parliament (MP) Mwalimu Masoudi Mwahima has refuted claims that he received money from the President at State House.

Speaking after he was spotted leaving Mombasa State House with a loaded brown envelope, the MP stated that the envelope contained job seekers' certificates.

“I have heard rumours that I received money from the President. The envelope I walked out with contained the certificates of my supporters," Mwasudi said.

The lawmaker, who has been accused of warming up to the Jubilee coalition, claimed that he only had a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Lands Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi and was assisting his supporters to get jobs.

On Monday, a photo of Mr Masudi carrying a brown envelope outside the State House, Mombasa turned him into a subject of online criticism, with some people accusing him of being 'bought' by Jubillee.

The legislator was however, applauded by others who stated that it was about time he realised that the Opposition would take him nowhere.

The Likoni MP brushed off accusations that he was shifting political allegiance from the Opposition, stating that he was only working with Government in his position as a legislator.

“I have not defected from the Cord coalition. When the time comes I will announce the party I will vie under so people should stop speculating,” the Star Masoudi.

President Kenyatta has been in Mombasa for the past one week.
