President Uhuru Kenyatta's sister, Margaret Wambui has passed on.
Reports indicate that Wambui died at her Nairobi home in Lavington estate at the age of 89.
The deceased was the eldest daughter and second born of former Head of State, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and first wife Grace Wahu.
She served as the first woman mayor of Nairobi City from 1970 to 1976.
Ms Wambui also served as Kenya's Representative to the United Nations from 1976 to 1986 after which she was involved in politics and advocating for the interest of women.
