Kenya Met Lists Nairobi, Mombasa & Kiambu Among Regions to Receive Rainfall This Week

The Kenya Meteorological Department has announced that most parts of the country will experience reduced rainfall from Tuesday, April 29, to Saturday, May 3.

The announcement was made by Kenya Met Director David Gikungu through a statement in a statement on Monday, April 28.

Residents in Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi Counties are expected to experience cloudy skies breaking into sunny intervals in the morning hours of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. However, it is likely to rain on Wednesday Morning in a few places.

A few places in these areas are expected to experience showers from Tuesday to Saturday afternoon and nights, with Wednesday night being partly cloudy. The maximum temperatures in these areas will be  20 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be six degrees Celsius.

Most parts of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta Counties, and inland parts of Tana River County, are expected to receive sunny intervals during the morning and afternoon; however, these counties are likely to experience showers on Saturday afternoon and Wednesday and Thursday night.

The maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be  32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be  13 degrees Celsius.

During this period, residents residing in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties, as well as coastal parts of Tana River County, are expected to receive sunny intervals during the morning hours. These areas are expected to receive showers on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday afternoon and night

According to Kenya Met, the counties will experience a maximum temperature of 33 degrees and a minimum temperature of  23 degrees.

Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot Counties will experience sunny intervals during the morning hours, while showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected over several places the rest of the day and night.

The maximum temperatures during this period are expected to be 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be nine degrees.

Lastly, Residents in  Turkana and Samburu counties, on the other hand, will experience sunny intervals during the day this period for most parts of the day

The maximum temperatures in these counties are expected to be 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be eight degrees Celsius.
