Uhuru Warns Leaders Against Inciting Violence

President Uhuru Kenyatta has affirmed that the government is ready to ensure that the country will not plunge into chaos after the August 8 General Election.

Kenyatta, who was on a voter mobilisation drive in Embu and Kitui counties maintained that no Kenyan would be hurt or property destroyed due to the polls.

The Head of State was seemingly responding to CORD leader Raila Odinga who stated that things "will be bad for Kenya” if a single vote would be stolen.

Odinga further stated that “Kenya would burn” if anything happened to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who he (Odinga) claimed the government was planning to assassinate.

The President warned the Opposition leaders that he would not allow the country to be thrown into violence blaming Odinga and his team of always speaking about chaos.

"Stop talking of violence all the time and let us compete on policies and leave Kenyans to make their choices. Politicians should not make Kenyans fight each other. Trying to divide Kenyans according to tribes is crude,” stated Kenyatta.

He noted that the Opposition was always issuing insulting statements which proved they never had a vision for the country.

"Every time you open your mouth you issue crude insults and illogical allegations. Someone, who when he wakes up everyday, does nothing else but engage in insults and threats has no vision for this country," added President Kenyatta.

He called on residents to turn up in large numbers and register as voters highlighting that it was the best way of ensuring the right leaders are elected.
