United Nations Experts Blame Jubilee Politician Weston Wahome for Threatening South Sudan - Kenya Pact

A report submitted to the United Nations Security Council has accused Jubilee Party politician Weston Wanjohi Wahome of making "veiled threats" that compromise Kenya's position as a neutral broker in the South Sudan conflict.

The report prepared by a UN panel of experts was based on incendiary remarks made on his Facebook posts as well as activities he undertook on behalf of the Juba Government last year.

The Roysambu parliamentary hopeful in the August polls has been accused of calling himself the regional coordinator of the Friends of South Sudan in East Africa

The statement seems to endorse the Juba government and shun the opposition.

The report points out that in a Facebook post last year, Mr Wahome mocked James Gatdet Dak, a spokesman for the South Sudan opposition whom Kenyan authorities arrested and deported six months ago

Mr Wahome went further to taunt the spokesman in a post that read: "Say hi to Mathiang Anyoor!"

Mathiang Anyoor, the report showed, is a Dinka tribal militia which has taken part in South Sudan government offensives that have targeted civilians as well as rebel forces.
