A video has emerged on social media showing Chase Bank Limited staff joyously celebrating news of the reopening of the financial institution.
The staffers, who had their future on the line after the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) stated that it had placed the bank under receivership, could not hide their excitement after the regulator announced that Chase Bank will be reopened on April 27.
In the clip making rounds on social media, the workers are seen losing themselves to Sinach's I Know Who I Am hit, thanking God for the Good News they received on Wednesday.
The employees lined up doing a shuffle dance while others are seen taking a video of the victorious dance.
CBK on Wednesday announced that the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) will take over the management of troubled Chase Bank Limited.
“All Chase Bank Ltd (In Receivership) branches will open by Wednesday, April 27, 2016. The online and mobile banking services will also become available. However, branches may initially offer limited banking services,” the regulator said.
Chase Bank customers will have access to their deposits upto a maximum of Sh1 Million.
