A Form Three student at New Jogoo Road Secondary School in Nairobi County was Tuesday arrested after police acting on a tip off found a bhang garden on the rooftop of his house.
The teenager identified as Simon Sianzu has reportedly been growing Marijuana for a long time before he was nabbed.
Officers who raided Sianzu's house uprooted over 1000 stalks of bhang that had been hidden inside a tank located on the rooftop.
The discovery of the garden left his mother in utter shock swearing that she had no information with regard to what her son was doing.
Nairobi Deputy County Commissioner Julius Karuku sharply criticised the act urging the locals to take responsibility and report such cases.
Residents, however, blamed the police for the widespread of the illegal trade, accussing them of working in cahoots with peddlers.
They noted that security officers knew every house that sold bhang, adding that they always received bribes from sellers.
