VIDEO: President Obama Weeps Over Gun Violence

US President Barack Obama, on Tuesday broke down during a press briefing at the White House while making an address on gun violence in the country.

Obama could not hold back tears when speaking of the December 14, 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where a 20 year-old man shot dead 20 children and 6 staff members.

“Rights were stripped from every family who never imagined that their loved ones would die from a bullet of a gun...Every time I think about those kids, it gets me mad,” he said while wiping his tears.

“In 2013 alone, more than 500 people lost lives to gun violence including 30 children younger than 5 years old,” President Obama said.

He spoke bitterly about firearms and announced strict regulations that would be introduced to tighten gun laws.

Standing next to Vice President Joe Biden, Obama said that the government would expand background checks on violent criminals who purchase weapons, ensure enforcement of gun-laws and boost gun safety technology in the country.

In October 1, 2015, a gunman opened fire at a community college in Oregon killing 10 people in yet another mass shooting.
