Wetangula to miss Raila, Kalonzo Meeting on Thursday After Flying to Australia

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula will on Thursday miss a meeting between CORD co-principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka since he is out of the country.

Reports indicate that Mr Wetangula is on a trip to Australia, but much has not been disclosed on the purpose his tour.

On Tuesday, Odinga and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi announced that they would form a super alliance referred to as NASA - the National Super Alliance - in a bid to dethrone President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On Wednesday, Kalonzo stated: "I will meet Odinga on Thursday so that he can explain some of the things they announced in Laikipia."

The former Vice President has been pushing his fellow principals to name the CORD flagbearer before the end of 2016 instead of waiting until 2017 to unveil their presidential candidate.

On the other hand, Odinga has maintained the presidential candidate for the Opposition would be named in 2017 stating that there was a lot of time left.

It now remains to be seen whether all the CORD principals will remain united if other members join the alliance and the criteria that will be deployed in picking the presidential candidate.
