What President Kenyatta's Son 'Otonglo' Scored in KCSE

Daniel Owira, the boy President Uhuru Kenyatta declared to be one of his sons two years ago, has qualified to join public university following his performance in the just released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examination results.

Owira, who studied at Highway Secondary School, scored a mean grade of  C+, which is the minimum score required to earn him a university slot.

The talented boy stated on Thursday that he wanted to pursue Broadcast Journalism, a dream that would probably come to pass after President Kenyatta promised to sponsor his education all the way to university.

Owira, commonly remembered as Otonglo, came into the limelight during the 2013 National Drama Festivals where he impeccably performed a narrative titled "Otonglo Times".

It was after his exemplary performance that Owira's life took a turn for the better as Kenyatta offered to take care of him owing to the deplorable life he was leading with his family.

“You are now one of my sons. Make sure you give me your report form every end of the term,” President Kenyatta said when he took in Owira.

Owira expressed his gratitude to the President attributing his success to the help from Kenyatta.

"I know my future is secured because I tried my best and I am happy with the results. I thank the President very much for all the support,' Owira was quoted by the Standard.

Owira is currently undertaking a Diploma in IT at Highland State College fully catered for by President Kenyatta.
