Woman Burns Househelp's Breasts

A woman was arraigned in court on Friday after she allegedly attacked her househelp on October 7 and inflicted extensive bodily harm on her chest.

According to the police, Leila Ombeva, a sales woman in Nairobi, woke up at around 7am to prepare breakfast only to realise that the milk bought by her househelp, Loise Mbone, had gone bad.

The court heard that the woman got angry and confronted Ms Mbone in a heated argument.

On hearing the commotion, neighbours in the Buruburu residential area ran to the scene and disentangled the women who had already began getting violent.

The prosecution further narrated that it was at this point that the accused slipped from the crowd into the house and came out carrying hot water which she had prepared for tea.

Ms Ombeva is said to have quickly poured the water on the househelp leaving her seriously scarred on the eyes, breasts, hands and back.

The defendant denied the charges and was released on a Sh50,000 bond till November 28 when the case will be heard.
