A woman from Tassia estate, Nairobi County was arraigned in court, charged with attempted suicide after she allegedly set herself on fire following an argument with her husband over claims of his infidelity.
Reports indicate that Caroline Mwangi confronted the husband Peter Kimani, accusing him of having an affair with a lady in the same estate. The husband is said to have insulted her, after which she slapped him and left their home with their daughter.
The Standard Newspaper reports that Caroline returned home the next day after her husband had left, locked herself in the house and set it ablaze.
Neighbours and police officers managed to put out the fire and rescue her. Her case is set to be heard on July 8th.
