Jeff Koinange Leaves KTN, Promises to Come Back on Another Station

Celebrated journalist Jeff Koinange on Thursday announced the end of his popular show Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) on KTN following public outcry from last week's episode.

During last week's show, Koinanage hosted Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirants Esther Passaris and his counterpart Miguna Miguna before the show turned into a hotbed of personal attacks with sex talk dominating the entire show.

Koinange was heavily criticised for failing to control the show especially after Miguna called Passaris a “socialite Bimbo” who thought she was so beautiful that everyone wanted to rape her.

After separately hosting gospel sensation artistes Sinach and Emmy Kosgei on his last show on KTN, Koinange made the announcement and apologised to everyone who felt offended by the Miguna-Passaris show.

“About a week ago right here on JKL we had a programme that deteriorated into something extremely ugly… where two guests went at each other and then some people out there who probably thought I should have done a better job in controlling the guests and I agree looking back hindsight is always 20/20... but in a live TV programme its always difficult… but I agree am man enough to man up to that.

“And if there is anyone who felt aggrieved by the show… anyone who felt I didn't do a good job… I apologise so that we can move on. It was regrettable in most parts but again it was one show out of 300 we have done on KTN,” Koinange stated.

He continued,” Having said that, this will be the final JKL on KTN... we are going to take a little break but rest assured all of you watching tonight, JKL will be back on another station in the coming weeks, stay tuned will keep you posted on social media".

Koinanage divulged that the show was only changing homes and thanked his viewers who have supported him over the years. He, however, did not reveal the exact station his show will appear next.

“For all of you who have watched us over the years, 10 Million viewers every week we appreciate what you have done and built this show to be. We want to take it to the next level for our loyal viewers. God bless you,” Koinanage concluded.
