2 Administration Police Constables Lynched in Marabu Village in Voi County

Two Administration Police (AP) officers were attacked and set ablaze at Marabu Village in Voi County after residents mistook them for thieves.

A witness narrated that one of the officers was set ablaze while his colleague tried to escape from the angry mob.

The two constables from Voi Police Station were on a mission to raid a Chang'aa den when the incident took place.

Police officers who arrived at the scene revealed that the two were not in uniform when they carried out the raid.

“People thought that they were thugs, that is why they attacked them,” a senior police officer stated.

The officers rushed to Moi Referral Hospital but one of the victims succumbed to injuries on Sunday morning. His colleague is still admitted in the hospital.

The police assured that investigations were underway and those found responsible would face the law.
