Kenya Defence Forces Soldier Daniel Chege Brutally Murdered in Murang'a, Suspects Nabbed in Thika Level 5 Hospital

A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier died after suffering head trauma when a criminal gang of 6 thugs attacked him with a blunt object at his home in Kiguoya village, Murang'a.

Reports indicate that the soldier, Mr Daniel Chege, managed to seriously injure his assailants who were later arrested after they sought medical treatment at the Thika Level 5 Hospital.

The thugs had also injured his wife, Mary Wambui, who identified two of the suspects at the facility where she was also being treated for injuries from the attack.

Wambui noticed one of the suspects being brought into the casualty area had wrapped his belly with her sweater.

She also noted that the other suspect had covered his injuries with one of her bed sheets and had Chege’s army bag’s strap around his wrist.

She then alerted nurses who secretly called the police and the suspects were arrested.

"We hope justice will prevail. What they did was inhuman. They took away the love of my life and I do not know how I will cope without him," Wambui mourned.

Relatives conveyed that Chege, 33, was a father of two and had survived two Al-Shabaab attacks in Somalia.

"It is very sad that he miraculously survived two Al-Shabaab attacks in Somalia only to come home and be killed by thugs," a relative reported.
