6 Kenyan Journalists Arrested in Zanzibar For Lack of Visas

Six Kenyan Journalists were arrested in Zanzibar of Thursday for lacking Visas.

The six, who were in the country for drone camp training, were denied entry immediately they landed.

"They are still with the officers. We are worried for them," a trainer stated.

East African Permanent Secretary (PS) Betty Maina stated she was not aware of the incident but added that she would look into the matter.

"There is no requirement for visas to Zanzibar. We are checking with our teams," the PS noted

Zanzibar is part of the East Africa Community thus Kenyans do not require visas to travel to the country.
