The two identified as Oscar Waimiri (12) and James Maina (10) were caught in the rubble with their mother Mary Wambui Mwangi.

Their relief, however, was short-lived as they realized their mother was missing following the incident which occurred when their father and two siblings were away.

"We looked around but our mother was nowhere. We embarked on a mission to trace her.

"Luckily, after five minutes we came across some household goods. We heard her crying out and pulled her out," Waimiri stated.

At the time, no help had arrived and the boys single-handedly saved their 38-year-old Wambui, who is pregnant is expected to give birth later his month from the glaring death.

Narrating the ordeal, the mother of four said that she was in shock, fear, and confusion until her sons pulled me from the mud.

The incident that was occasioned by the heavy rainfall left eight families homeless and one man dead.
