Otiende was attending the funeral of the son of former MP Oloo Aringo before he collapsed.

Witnesses said the MP had gone to read his speech when the incident happened.

At Aga Khan Hospital, the security has been heightened with journalists being kept at bay.

His Personal Assistant Jeff Atweng’a, however, indicated that the renown lawyer is now in a stable condition.

Atweng'a promised that Amollo would address the media in Kisumu once he has recuperated without divulging further details.

The legislator has in the past weeks been involved in the construction of better houses for his constituents an initiative dubbed #OndoaNyasi (remove grass thatch).

This initiative carried out in partnership with other wellwishers has seen several families benefit from their humble abodes to more modest dwellings.
