NTV Senior Reporter, Peter Mwangangi and Business Reporter Hudheifa Aden Head to BBC

NTV Kenya has lost two of its star journalists to BBC.

Kenyans.co.ke can authoritatively report that NTV's Senior Reporter Peter Mwangangi and business reporter Hudheifa Aden, will be leaving the Kimathi Street media house.

A source who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke revealed that Mwangangi - who was based at the coast before his departure - will be leaving NTV Kenya on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Hudheifa was reported to be joining the UK based media house at the end of July where he will be working under his former colleague at NTV Larry Madowo.

Hudheifa is a trained lawyer but he took to business news while at NTV which was also his first employer.

The move comes just a week after senior crime and investigative reporter Steve Juma got an appointment as Director Governors press service Tana River county.

Those who have joined BBC from NTV in the past include celebrated journalist Sophie Ikenye and Denis Okari, who worked for the media house briefly before returning to NTV, among others.

The latest assault comes as the BBC expands its regional operations.

During its career day in September last year, BBC World Service, its radio arm, stated it was preparing to hire more than 100 staff members in the East African region by early this year, in one of its ambitious expansion plans.

Currently, BBC employs more than 300 natives in the East African region compared to more than 200 in the West African region.

The company has also been working on its new production studios that will employ over 200 people.
