Mt Kenya TV Poaches Presenters From Royal Media Services and Kameme TV

The new Mt. Kenya TV that is linked to Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici has gone on a shopping spree for presenters, producers and editors at Royal Media Services and Mediamax.

The new media house will look to penetrate the local media and it is not sparing any efforts to dominate.

It has already managed to lure Macharia Gachuru, Monica Kagoni, Njambi wa Njau, and Robert Kimani from Inooro TV which is owned by Royal Media.

Jedidah Njue, who was covering investigative stories at Citizen TV will join Mt Kenya TV as the Head of Camera unit given her experience.

Four more presenters are set to join the new station from Kameme TV which is owned by Mediamax that is linked to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kenya’s media industry has changed over the years with plenty of new entrants targeting specific audiences by age group, language, and interests.

It is reported that the Ngirici family has invested over Ksh600 million for this new venture in hopes of edging out competitors like Inooro, Kameme, Njata, Gikuyu, and Three Stones.

The new TV station will be launched simultaneously with a radio department.

The yet to be launched Iganjo FM, promises via a promo running on Mt Kenya TV, that Kikuyu radio broadcasting is about to take a major new shift never experienced before.

Time will tell whether it will live up to the hype. Its competition Inooro FM and Kameme FM are way ahead because they do not only rank top in local radios but also among national stations that broadcast in English and Swahili
