Gov Laboso's Last Instruction That Her Family Declined

New details have emerged about Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso's final instruction to her family that was not granted.

In a report carried by The Standard, prior to her passing, the county boss had requested her doctors and family members to be taken home and rest.

She reportedly made the request eight days ago after two months of vigorous treatment in London, India and Nairobi Hospital.

“I want to go rest at home," she made the request on July 21 while she was in the high dependency unit (HDU).

Some family members were, however, not okay with her instruction and declined to grant her the wish which is why she was transferred to the general VIP ward in the North Wing on Monday, July 22.

In their defence, the family members argued that the then ailing governor needed to stay in hospital and carry on with her treatment.

Among the dignified personalities who visited Laboso in the hospital include Deputy President William Ruto who, on Monday, revealed two questions that the late governor had asked him.

Speaking to journalists at Lee Funeral Home where her body was taken, Ruto stated that the late governor was conscious.

"She asked me what was going on in Bomet and whether she could go home," recalled Ruto.

To answer her questions, Ruto and her husband Edwin Obonyo, told her to "look after herself and allow the doctors to look after her".

'With the amount of pain that she was going through, and the level of medicine that she had to be given to overcome the pain, God has finally rested Joyce," the deputy president divulged.

DP Ruto also thanked Laboso's immediate family for the help that they had accorded her while she was undergoing treatment.
