Kabogo's Advice to Uhuru After Waititu's Arrest

Former Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, has reached out to President Uhuru Kenyatta with two crucial pieces of advice to ensure his success remains intact after Governor Ferdinand Waititu's arrest.

Speaking to members of the press in Mombasa, on Monday, the eloquent former county boss advised the president to carry on with his crackdown on corrupt individuals explaining that his legacy depends on it and not on the Big 4 Agenda.

Kabogo further cautioned Uhuru that if he failed to see the eradication of corruption in the country to the end, the rogue leaders would go after him when his term ends.

“President Kenyatta, soldier on. If you don’t they will come for you after your term. Make sure you fight corruption to the end.

“It is unfortunate the things that are unfolding in Kiambu. My message to the people of Kiambu is to be calm. God will open ways,” stated Kabogo.

He further added that the arrest of Waititu proved that everyone was a target in the crackdown and naysayers who claimed that the operation was slanted towards a certain cliche of people were wrong.

He disclosed that the arrest should serve as a warning for such calibre of leaders and everyone in general explaining that Kenyans were happy with the president's efforts so far.

“Those who are doubting President Kenyatta’s zeal to fight corruption now know there is no one who cannot be arrested. The only person who cannot be arrested now is the president himself.

“It will come like thunder. The president must soldier on. If you need help, we are here,” he continued.

Waititu was arrested on Sunday in connection with irregular expenditure of public funds to the tune of Ksh588 million.

On Tuesday, the governor was awarded a Ksh15 million cash bail but failed to raise it and lodged an appeal to have it reduced.
