DP Ruto Flaunts English Vocabulary as He Tears Into BBI Debate

Deputy President William Ruto, on Tuesday, took a swipe at politicians seeking to use the constitutional referendum proposal, as a tool to divide Kenyans.

Speaking in Eldoret, during the official opening of the Living Room International Hospital, the DP maintained that reforms should not bring about a winner-loser scenario.

He also took to Twitter to post a heavy vocabulary laden message, whose meaning left Kenyans struggling to understand.

"Jubilee rejects the tsunami-bravado hubris & threats by those pushing for divisive winners vs losers debate on the BBI," Ruto tweeted.

The country's second in command also emphasised the need for any referendum talks to be all-inclusive.

"We will encourage sober, inclusive and objective citizen conversation on all proposals, to ensure the views of all Kenyans count so to create a win-win outcome," he announced.

Leaders allied to the DP have been vocal in their disapproval of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), with a majority of them claiming that the entire outfit was purely aimed at creating a position of power for ODM Party leader, Raila Odinga.

However, in his latest post, Ruto called for the initiative to ensure that at the end of the day, no one walked away as a loser.

“We do not want a lose-lose arrangement. We want a win-win where every Kenyan becomes a winner. I want to encourage Kenyans to focus on ensuring that whatever the debate. It is a debate about issues, and everybody must be listened to, so that we can enrich the outcome of any conversation that we have in the country,” DP Ruto reiterated during his speech.

The BBI team, which has traversed the country collecting public views on challenges derailing the country, is expected to present its report to President Uhuru Kenyatta in September.

After opening the posh hospital, which specializes in palliative care, DP Ruto announced that the facility would help patients with cancer, kidney diseases as well as those suffering from effects of stroke.
