MP's Supporters Rough up Police to Prevent His Arrest [VIDEO]

Gitui Catholic Church in Murang' a County was on Sunday, September 8, was the scene of a confrontation between two legislators, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and nominated MP Maina Kamanda. 

After causing a commotion and disrupting the church service, it appeared that the Kiharu MP faced arrest over incitement. 

A clip making rounds online showed a police officer trying to make his to the MP but his supporters block him shouting. 

The agitated supporters are seeing pushing the officer away from Nyoro as he resists being apprehended.

The commotion that ensued outside the church after Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro clashed with Maina Kamanda on 8/9/2019.

The officer seemingly overpowered, back down and the MP successfully evades arrest.

Nyoro managed to address the media outside the church revealing that Kamanda had not acknowledged his presence as agreed.

"Protocol was not observed. If you are an MP of an area, you are the one to introduce the MPs there. Maina Kamanda didn't do as we had agreed," he told journalists.

He further alleged that Kamanda had not consulted him as the MP on matters development in the county.

Taking to social media, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was of the view that the region was unnecessarily politically charged.

"Jubilee Kieleweke and Jubilee Tanga Tanga desecrated the House of God in Muranga. With over 1,000 days to go before the next elections. The rest of the country is calm. One can be forgiven for assuming that the next elections will take place in Mt Kenya only," he stated.
