Police Corner & Spray Bullets on Drug Peddler

Police officers in Mocca Village, Bungoma Town, shot and killed a drug peddler after he allegedly resisted arrest.

Reports by The Standard alleged that the suspect, Isaac Ngong'u, engaged the officers in a fight.

County Criminal Investigation Officer, Daniel Muleli, stated that the suspect brandished a panga and a toy pistol before the fatal incident happened.

“The officers recovered 120 rolls of bhang, a toy pistol and a panga. We have recalled all the guns used during the shootout,” Muleli stated.

He added that investigations into the matter were ongoing.

The suspects family, however, expressed that the father of three was a businessman who sold second-hand clothes.

“They should have arrested him instead of killing him,” his father, John Mutugi told the publication.

He noted that it was wrong for the police to shoot him dead instead of making an arrest.

Ngong'u's body was taken to the Bungoma County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
