How Ruto Disrespected Uhuru After Being Cautioned at State House

Nyeri town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu on Sunday, September 15, claimed that Deputy President William Ruto defied a direct order from the President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during an interview on K24's punchline, the legislator stated that DP Ruto and Uhuru's relationship is dead because the former refused to adhere to Uhuru's orders to refrain from campaigning.

"I don't think there is a working relationship between the president and his deputy, I believe it has completely fallen apart," he remarked.

He went on to claim that the final straw between Uhuru and Ruto's relationship broke because the DP allegedly politicized government development projects.

According to his statements, Uhuru had called Ruto over to State House and urged him to abstain from campaigning so soon after a general election.

Wambugu maintained that DP Ruto's weekly trips across the country to launch various projects was an act of defiance against the president.

“Because you are politicizing the development people won’t support your political position, they don’t accept it,” the lawmaker asserted.

Uhuru was apparently angered by the constant politicking as people jostled for positions, culminating in his famous angry rant during annual General Conference of the Akorino Churches Assembly at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

"They keep going around the country but they should know they didn't give me any votes, I am the one who campaigned for them," Kenyatta barked out on June 16, 2019.

Wambugu then mocked the DP by stating that he was merely an errand boy for the president.

"For all intents and purposes, a deputy president, in most circumstances is irrelevant."
