Raila is Acting Funny, Needs Prayers - DP Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto, on Saturday, September 21, 2019, asked Kenyans to say a prayer for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Embu County, Ruto claimed the former PM’s behaviour was erratic and that he required help.

The DP added that Odinga was trying to get power by hook or crook before dismissing him as a confused leader.

"I think Kenyans should seek divine intervention for Odinga so that he can stop behaving in a funny way," Ruto was quoted in the Daily Nation.

The country’s second in command continued his onslaught against the ODM leader, urging him to get his party in order and keep off Jubilee.

"Huyu mtu wa vitendawili (Raila) is trying to destroy Jubilee, thinking that by doing so he will ascend to power. I want to tell him that Jubilee is built on a strong foundation and he will not succeed in bringing it down

"Odinga should sort out the mess in his party instead of intruding into Jubilee which is focussing on development," he added.

The upcoming Kibra by-election has escalated the already highly competitive relationship between the deputy president and the opposition leader.

Some Jubilee MPs have openly declared support for ODM’s candidate Imran Okoth over Jubilee’s McDonald Mariga.

During his visit, the DP laid the foundation stone for the Ksh100 million Mbeere North Technical Training Institute.
