A General Service Unit officer was apprehended after a dramatic operation conducted by detectives on Wednesday morning, October 30.

The officer was arrested after he was allegedly linked to the guns that were used to kill two women in Katani, Machakos County on Saturday, October 26.

According to The Standard, unknown gunmen shot dead Ann Katita, 60, and her 35-year-old daughter-in-law Purity Wanjiru.

The two were killed as Ann was opening the gate for her son Fredrick Mwangi and his wife Purity, who were arriving from work.

Two men riding on a boda boda opened fire at them, shooting the mother and daughter-in-law in the head while Fredrick escaped with a bullet in his leg.

The armed robbers then made away with the deceased's purses.

On Wednesday, October 30, Citizen TV also mentioned that two AK 47 rifles were recovered after police killed one of the gunmen linked to the Saturday killing.

The cartridges spent matched the guns that were found at the murder scene, belonging to the GSU officer.
