Governors Suffer Flight Blunder Enroute to Kenya

A section of governors suffered a plane blunder during a trip to Kenya on Sunday, November 3.

The Nigerian governors were scheduled to meet their Kenyan counterparts but had to reschedule after a problem came up.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the Council of Governors Head of Communications Ruth Chitwa stated that it was not clear what the issue was but some of the expected leaders made the trip.

She further added that the affected leaders were scheduled to land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at around 8pm.

The problem forced the CoG to postpone the meeting with the visiting colleagues.

"The governors were expected to land in Kenya today, November 3, at 2000hrs at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). However, there have been challenges with their flight which changes their arrival day and time.

"This is to, therefore, inform all media houses through the editors, of the postponement of the same and request all media houses to cancel/recall all journalists assigned for this assignment," read the statement in part.

This came just hours after a police helicopter was forced to crash-land on one of the runways at Wilson Airport on Saturday, November 2.

A report shared by K24 revealed that the chopper was registered as 5Y-SFA (Mil Mi-17 Hip).

The reports further stated that the helicopter was forced to take the risky plunge onto the runway after developing mechanical problems on its final descent.

Two police officers - a chief inspector attached to the Kenya Police Airwing and a flight engineer, were on board during the scary incident.
