Sabina Chege Snaps at DP Ruto [VIDEO]

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege on Friday, January 31, addressed Deputy President William Ruto and his allies, accusing them of ganging up to disrespect President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the woman representative, while addressing Murang’a County residents at Kenol, urged the deputy president to move in and tame his supporters whom she accused of fuelling division in Jubilee.

“I have always respected the deputy president and my respect still holds. However, I urge you to take a step and tame a number of MPs allied to you.

“You have many allies who only open their mouths to utter words only aimed at insulting the president. They are your people and you have the responsibility to tame them,” remarked Sabina.

Sabina further accused them of creating unnecessary political animosity in readiness for the 2022 General Election at the expense of Kenyans.

“There is no need of insulting president Uhuru Kenyatta during your political rallies. He deserves our respect as leaders,” she reminded.

The woman representative also downplayed Mt.Kenya region's supposed opposition to President Kenyatta, urging the head of state to kickstart his tour of the region to projects as soon as possible.

“No opposition awaits you in this region as many want to show. We are eagerly waiting to welcome you as the region’s leader,” she encouraged.

Netizens were not left behind in reacting to Sabina’s remarks.

Lexxi Kimani; “As a leader, you should be ready for criticism whether negative or positive. At this point, I don't know why the president is so concerned about what someone has to say about him. Leave a legacy man and walk away.”

Ngetich Dennis; “You don’t have any moral authority to lecture DP Ruto.”

Kimosong; "[The] crowd is unenthusiastic, not at all interested in such cheap talks because they know who they support, but she continues to expose her ignorance.”

Mercy Maina; "Sabina Chege will no longer sit back and watch the MPs disrespect the president.”

Lewis Menya; "I want to say it in no uncertain terms that the respect for the president is not negotiable."

The political differences between leaders in the region continued to grow and openly show in public between leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta under the Kieleweke faction and others allied to DP Ruto under the Tanga Tanga faction.

Most recent was the public show of differences between Sabina and Kandara MP Alice Wahome on January 15, with the latter being an ardent supporter of DP Ruto.

Wahome issued a stern warning to Chege over claims that she was planning to gang up with nominated MP Maina Kamanda to disrupt her meeting in Kandara.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, Wahome claimed that the duo had hatched a plan to disrupt an event at the Kandara Sub-county headquarters, where she would be issuing bursaries to Form One students.

The Kandara parliamentarian alleged that the two had met a group of youth on Monday, January 13, and asked them to disrupt the meeting.
