A land case pitting billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi against a Nairobi woman has taken another twist after she claimed that the tycoon and his wife threatened her.

A report by Daily Nation indicated that the woman in question, Cissy Kalunde Musembi, filed a case against Aureum Ltd, which is associated with the tycoon accusing him of acquiring the parcel illegally.

In the suit, Musembi claimed that she faced threats and prejudice from the tycoon and his wife.

“I am an innocent third-party buyer of the property. I face threats and egregious prejudice by Mr. Wanjigi and his wife who hold parallel titles over the property,” she revealed in the documents.

Musembi filed the suit seeking the Environment and Land Court to stop the firm from acquiring the parcel located at General Mathenge Road in Westlands.

She is seeking the court to also cancel the titles held by the Wanjigi's arguing that they did not accord with what the chief land registrar issued.

She further claimed that she bought the property in November 2018 after parting with Ksh220 million.

In October 2019, the tycoon had moved to court over the tussle on the parcel that was at the time, contested by three tycoons who claimed to possess ownership documents of the one-acre piece of land.

At the time, the two businessmen were unidentified when Wanjigi moved to Parklands Police Station.

So serious was the tussle that the land in question was taken over by the Land Fraud Unit at the DCI headquarters.

DCI George Kinoti had ordered that the case be moved to the headquarters owing to its seriousness.

Wanjigi also accused the two rivals of colluding with senior officials at the Ardhi House to illegally acquire the expensive parcel of land.

He further explained that he had constantly been paying land rates and rent to the government since he acquired it.
