Death struck the family of BBC journalist Angela Wanjiru wa Muriuki alias Ciru Muriuki following the passing of her aunt on Monday, November 23, just four months after the demise of her dad.
Muriuki revealed that her aunt, Agnes Muriuki who was her dad's younger sister had died and asked her fans to pray for the children she left behind.
"Almost four months to the day that her best friend, big brother, my dad, went to heaven, this beautiful, wonderfully kind and strong woman, my aunt Agnes Muriuki has followed him into eternity. We are stunned.
"Our hearts are broken. Please pray for Paul Kabau, Nimo Kay and Wangari Kiai, the children she has left behind. She was everything to them," she announced.
The former NTV presenter lost the dad on Saturday, August 15, revealing that he succumbed after contracting Covid-19.
Muriuki on Sunday hinted through her post that the family was going through some trying times, "Jesus. How much pain can one family bear?"
The former K24 presenter eulogised her aunt as a lover member of the family adding that she would always be cherished.
"She was a loving sister, grandmother and aunt. She will be so very missed. We take a small measure of comfort that she is reunited with her big brother, my dad, who was her anchor and protector. Please pray for us," she added.
The last two years have been trying for the renowned journalist as she revealed that she also tested positive for Covid-19 at around the same time her father passed away.
In September 2019, she opened up on her struggle with depression and body image adding that she had moments of anxiety.
"Then there is also the fact that I have been struggling a bit with my mental health. I’ve had moments of great anxiety; I’ve had a couple of depressing moments.
"You know what, I’m understating it when I say depressed moments it sounds like I felt down for about three minutes and sixty-three seconds and that’s not the case," she confessed.
