870 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample size of 6,309 tested in the last 24 hours. This takes Kenya's cumulative confirmed positive cases to 112,805.
In a statement on Saturday, March 13, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe disclosed that the total tests conducted so far are 1,364,699.
He added that in the ongoing vaccination exercise, a total of 9,144 front-line workers had been vaccinated in 40 Counties since the exercise was launched.
Sadly, seven patients have succumbed to the disease pushing the cumulative fatality to 1,908.
From the positive cases recorded in the last 24 hours, 792 are Kenyans while 78 are foreigners. 506 are males while 364 are females.
The youngest is a three-month-old infant while the eldest is 99 years.
117 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. Total recoveries now stand at 88,326.
There are 650 patients currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 1,929 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
98 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 25 of whom are on ventilator support and 60 on supplemental oxygen.
13 patients are on observation. Another 25 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 23 of them in the general wards. Two patients are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
