10,000 Police Recruits Finally join College

Kiganjo police training college is today set to admit the new police recruits.

6,000 recruits will join the Kenya Police Service while 4,000 join the Administrative police.

The new recruitment conducted on Monday, 20th April followed a court nullification of a previous recruitment carried out on July 14, 2014 after allegations of corruption rocked the exercise.

The recruitment exercise conducted on Monday had earlier been  challenged in court by 100 youth, whose recruitment was annuled by the court last year but the petition was dismissed by justice Mumbi Ngugi.

For some the recruitment which followed an urgent directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta, is  a renewed hope after making it into the service while some a great disappointment after failing to make it into the service despite having succeeded last year.

The massive recruitment comes as a renewed drive by the government  to recruit 10,000 police officers every year due to the prevailing security challenge in the country.
