Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici's husband has come clean on the reported raid by auctioneers to their palatial home in Karen on Monday, August 9 over a Ksh 5 million helicopter debt.

Peter Andrew Ngirici, addressing residents in Kerugoya on Tuesday, August 10, denied claims that their home was raided in order to seize items on grounds that the couple had failed to clear debt to Flex Air Charters which dates back from 2016.

Mr. Ngirici claimed that he and his wife, Purity, stay in the affluent Muthaiga estate, which is different from the location of the raid.

Justifying his claims, he stated that he is an astute businessman who has invested in real estate projects and the house raided by the auctioneers belongs to one of his tenants.

He claimed that the raid by the auctioneers was a scheme sponsored by political detractors aimed at soiling their reputation.

"I want to put the record straight, I am a businessman who owns a house in Karen, and if auctioneers have raided my tenant, that is not me. I don't stay in Karen, I stay in Muthaiga. If there is anyone who has any issue with me, he or she should come straight to me, but so far no one has come forward concerning the issue. Those are haters, sellouts seeking to soil our names," Andrew Ngirici said amid cheers from the crowd.

According to earlier reports, the auctioneers were seeking to seize items equivalent to the debt after the couple allegedly failed to pay the amount to Flex Air Charters in 2016.

The reports indicated that Ngirici had hired helicopters between May 8 and August 17, 2016, accumulating a Ksh5.9 million debt.

The reports stated that the Ngirici's had partly paid the money remaining with a balance of Ksh3.9 million which ignited a court battle with Flex Air Charters.

Flex Air Charters went to court in a bid to compel the couple to pay the balance. Lawyer Donald Kipkorir stated that the company won the case but Ngirici failed to pay the amount.

Ngirici stated the raid was a political witch hunt because of her affiliation with Deputy President William Ruto.

“The whole thing is political; these were my enemies at play. The statement I made over the weekend has really touched them,” she concluded.
