Fresh details in the August 13 attack on a Kenyan woman working in a Casino in Albania have linked the casino's driver to the crime.

Joy Aoko is believed to have been attacked on the evening of August 13 shortly after returning from work - an action that caused her family immense agony.

Details from an eyewitness hinted that the 22-year-old woman might have been attacked and raped by her colleague who was charged with the responsibility of dropping her off from work.

According to Joy's mother, a witness who lives at a nearby apartment wrote a report at the police station indicating that her daughter was attacked.

She added that her daughter had earlier claimed that she was being stalked by a man only identified as the casino's driver.

Her mother, however, confirmed that Joy had never complained of mistreatment at her workplace.

“Although she was not staying in her apartment alone, her roommate refuses to write a report with the police, talk to me or just visit my daughter in the hospital which makes me wonder,” the mother revealed.

The Casino driver suspected of brutally attacking the Kenyan woman appeared on a local show in Tirana, Albania, called On Target where he detailed the last moments of his contact with her.

According to the driver, the young woman had blocked him on every social network platform after they ended a romantic relationship they were having before.

"I have known Joyce Aoko for about 3 months at the Casino at the 'Sheraton' in Tirana. I had an intimate relationship with her.

"On August 8, 2022, around 2:00 pm, I went to the house where she lived on Elbasan street, near the Floërs residence. After spending a few hours with her, I decided not to continue this relationship," the driver indicated.

Joy is still admitted to the hospital and is in a coma. The family hopes that they will get justice for their kin.

The medical bills are rising every day and are likely to surpass the current Ksh2.5 million bill and the family is appealing to well-wishers for help to pay the bills.
