Dr Daniel Yumbya is the former Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council Chief Executive Officer(CEO), and the current Health County Executive Member for Machakos County.
Before his retirement in October 2022, Dr Yumbya had served as the KMPDC Board CEO for over ten years.
He is credited for instituting reforms in the medical profession by developing and disseminating policy documents across the country.
He was also instrumental in the fight against Covid-19 in his role as the Secretariat Head in supporting the COVID National Taskforce and providing vital technical information to inform the government of COVID-19 response strategies.
In 2022, he was conferred with an honorary doctorate of degree (Honoris Causa) by Mount Kenya University.
