He has been instrumental in driving the company's mission to revolutionise public transportation in Africa by providing electric bus solutions.
BasiGo has had a significant positive impact on society by promoting sustainable transportation in the city and beyond.
Their electric buses help reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, which is crucial for improving public health and combating climate change.
By offering a cost-effective alternative to diesel buses, BasiGo is making clean transportation more accessible and affordable for public transport operators.
Thanks to BasiGo's contributions, Nderitu has received several recognitions for his role in sustainable transportation. BasiGo was named Best Green Startup at The Global Startup Awards.
In addition, the company secured a substantial $42 million funding round led by Africa50, marking one of the largest investments in an e-mobility company in Africa.
The company is on the ascendancy and is set to use the new funding to deliver 1,000 electric buses in East Africa within the next three years.
Funds will also be used to increase manufacturing capacity at BasiGo’s dedicated E-Bus assembly line, which is located at Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers.
