Paul Russo

Appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kenya Commercial Bank in 2022, Paul Russo has continued the trajectory of placing KCB as one of the most formidable financial institutions in the East African region.

Under his guidance, KCB has continued to expand its footprint in the East African market, offering innovative financial solutions to its customers.

Russo holds a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) degree from Moi University and Strathmore University.

He is credited with shaping the bank's strategic direction and fostering a positive work environment for employees.

Russo emphasises the importance of resilience in the corporate world, believing that consistent hard work and perseverance are key to success.

It is due to this commitment that KCB has seen exponential growth and development.

Under Russo’s leadership, KCB recorded a 54 per cent growth in total assets to Ksh1.86 trillion in the first half of the year ending June 30, 2023, as net profit closed at Ksh16.1 billion.

“Despite a challenging economic environment across our operating markets, the business remained resilient delivering a strong balance sheet and increased contribution from regional businesses,” Russo remarked on KCB’s performance.

“Looking ahead, noting the actions we have taken and with significantly improved liquidity, business focus is on accelerated performance in the second half of the year while supporting the distressed customers.”
