Najib Balala

Hon Najib Balala is the current Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife. Balala studied Business Administration and International Urban Management and Leadership from the University of Toronto and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

Zack Kinuthia

Zack Kinuthia is the current Chief Administrative Officer in the Ministry of Education.

Kinuthia’s appointment in 2020 makes him the youngest individual serving in the position.

At 32 years, he has worked in management and leadership roles at various government and civil society organizations for close to a decade. 

He is currently pursuing a law degree at the University of Nairobi and is also a holder of a degree in Economics and Political Science from the same university. 

Mutahi Kagwe

Mutahi Kagwe is the current Cabinet Secretary for Health. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Insurance) degree from the University of Nairobi and an MBA from the United States International University.

Patrick Njoroge

Born in 1961, Patrick Ngugi Njoroge is an economist, banker and the Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya from June 2015 to date.

He attended Mangu High School from 1973 until 1976, for his O-Level education.

He graduated with a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Nairobi in 1985 before pursuing a PhD in Economics at Yale University in 1993. 

Following his PhD studies, he worked as an economist at the Ministry of Finance from March 1993 until December 1994.

Ukur Yattani

Ukur Yatani is the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and former CS for Labour and Social Protection.

Born in Forole, North Horr sub-county in 1967, Yatani was a stellar student culminating his studies in the US where he graduated with a Master of Public Administration and Public Policy degree from the University of York in the UK.

Yatani has over 27-years of experience in public administration, politics, diplomacy and governance in the public sector since 1992. 

Okiya Omtatah

Human Rights Activist, Okiya Omtatah Okoiti, is not a  lawyer by profession, but many see him as the country’s public defender due to the number of cases he has filed in the public interest.

His quest for a just society has seen him get into trouble with law enforcers, persevering beatings and lockups. At one point in 2012, he lost four incisors after an attack that was blamed on hired goons.
