Mukhisa Kituyi

Mukhisa Kitui, of Kenya, became UNCTAD's seventh Secretary-General on 1 September 2013. After serving an initial four-year term, he was reappointed by the General Assembly in July 2017 for an additional term that began on 1 September that year.

He was elected to the Kenyan Parliament in 1992, and was twice re-elected.

From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Kituyi was a member of a team of experts advising the presidents of the nations of the East African Community on how to establish more effective regional economic links.

Roy Allela

Roy Allela is the lead engineer and founder for Sign-IO, a glove that translates sign language to speech.

The technology has taken a key role in assisting people who cannot sign to communicate with those without hearing ability.

In 2019 won the Roy Africa Prize for Engineering- Royal Academy of Engineering LIF Fellow 1st Place -American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) ISHOW Winner Winner, Best Overall Innovation, Nairobi Innovation Week Winner Intel University App Challenge

Damaris Parsitau

Dr. Damaris Parsitau is a gender and social justice activist, Echidna Global Scholar at the Brookings Institution, Research Associate Harvard University, USA.

She is an advocate for a just society that provides equality & adequate opportunity for women and girls

 

Geoffrey Omondi

Geoffrey Omondi is the Head of Monitoring and evaluation at the Aga Khan Health Services

He is also the Project Consultant for Zest For Life

In April 2019, he was feted by WHO after his health app was picked among the best globally.

 

Elizabeth Wanjiru Wathuti

Elizabeth Wanjiru Wathuti is a 23-year-old change-maker from Kenya who has her expertise and passion in sustainability, environmental conservation and community development.

She is a recipient of Wangari Maathai Scholarship award for her outstanding passion and commitment to environmental conservation which dates back to her childhood.
