One person has been stabbed to death while another is nursing serious injuries near the Jubilee Party headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi after supporters of rival candidates clashed on Wednesday morning.
The two are said to have been posting campaign materials belonging to a parliamentary aspirant when they were ambushed by their competitors.
In the incident, which happened around Pangani Girls High School, the victims tried to escape but were unfortunately stabbed by the rival group.
According to Nairobi police commandant Japheth Koome, the deceased was also knocked down by a speeding vehicle and died after being rushed to the hospital.
He added that investigations would be conducted to ascertain the cause of the death.
The incident happened as the Jubilee nominations in the City are being conducted with hundreds of residents already camping at polling stations to select their preferred candidates.
