Legendary Kenyan athlete Eliud Kipchoge has been sued alongside two others for buying a contested Ksh100 million property located in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

According to court documents, Kipchoge has been sued by the wife of athlete Daniel Komen who has accused Kipchoge and others of buying the property without her consent.

In the case that has been filed at Eldoret High Court, Komen's wife states that the matrimonial land was sold without her knowledge.

Two others who have been sued alongside Kipchoge are businessmen in Eldoret and also own part of the now-contested property.

The lady now has petitioned the court to have the sale nullified arguing that the sale and subsequent transfer of title deed was illegal.

In the filed court documents, it is reported that Komen's wife noted that the land measures 200 acres and is registered as Southern East of Eldoret Municipality in Uasin Gishu County.

She further revealed that she was shocked to find Kipchoge and the two businessmen occupying the land even though she was not aware of any transaction.

Komen's wife further accused the trio of taking advantage of her husband to buy the land at a throwaway price despite the property being located in a prime area.

The three are believed to only have paid Ksh10 million for the 200-acre piece of land.

While Komen admits that his wife is a co-owner of the land, he has argued that the sale was done with her consent.

“My husband has never mentioned to me the sale and hence I was surprised when strangers occupied it," she was quoted as denying consenting to the transaction.

Komen's wife became co-owner of the property after she took loans and gave her husband the money to purchase part of the land.
