The Kenya Railways Corporation has announced nine multi-billion tenders open for interested bidders.
In a notice in the Tuesday, May 21, Mygov issue, the corporation revealed that one of the tenders is for the construction of resident apartments in Msaada Estate in Mombasa County.
All Kenyans interested in this tender are urged to send their proposals through the right channel by May 31 2024 before 10 am.
Another tender announced by the corporation is for General Insurance Brokerage Service and all bidders are required to send in proposals before May 31 by 2 pm.
Also, Kenya Railways is looking for bidders to provide commercial display screens. These screens will be used for advertising and entertainment. Bidders interested in the above tender are urged to send in their bids before June 3 by 10 am.
Kenya Railways also seeks a bidder to relocate Mwamdudu Secondary School, a public institution affected by the Mombasa-Nairobi-Naivasha SGR Project. Bids for this tender should be sent in before June 3 by 2 pm.
The Meat Training Institute in Athi River has also been affected by the project and bids for this should be sent in by June 4, before 10 am.
Other tenders include printing of SGR passenger tickets, supply and delivery of motor vehicle and heavy machinery tyres, purchase of locomotive spare parts, and printing and delivery of printed security materials (commuter train tickets, parking tickets and reconciliation book).
The bids for the above tenders should be sent in by June 4 before 2 pm, June 5 before 10 am, June 5 before 2 pm and June 6 by 10 am respectively.
How to Bid
All bidders are urged to download the tender documents from the official website krc.co.ke and the PPIP website tender.go.ke or from the officer of the General Manager at the Kenya Railways Headquarters in Nairobi.
Anyone who downloads the tender documents must register their interest immediately by sending an email to procure@krc.co.ke stating their names, email, postal & telephone address and tender details.
Bidders will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh1,000.
"Completed Tender Documents (accompanied by a Tender Security in the amount and form specified in the tender document) in plain sealed envelopes must be clearly marked with the “Tender No. and the Description of the Tender”: and addressed to the Managing Director and shall be deposited in the tender box at the Kenya Railway's headquarters." reads part of the notice.
All tenders shall be opened in the presence of the tenderers' representatives who choose to attend at the Kenya Railways Headquarters.
