More than 1,500 pupils will be locked out of classrooms on Wednesday morning at a private school in Mombasa County over management wrangles.

According to videos seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the institution's gate was chained and blocked using two school buses whose tyres were deflated to prevent access.

it is not clear the persons behind the scuffle, how they got access to the buses and what informed the thinking behind the decision to deflate the tyres right infront of the school gate, effectively crippling learning activities.

This is not the first time that the school has been embroiled in squabbles as armed goons broke into the private institution and demolished its perimeter wall in March 2024.

It is speculated that the land on which the school sits is embroiled in a legal tussle involving a member of a wealthy family who claims ownership of the property.

Area residents claimed that the incident in March was allegedly instigated as a means of scaring the occupants into vacating the premises.

Reports indicated that the goons issued threats to the teachers and area residents who were present during the time of the invasion.

The residents have since called on the National Land Commission (NLC) to intervene before the situation escalates.

They pointed out that the wrangles in turn affect the pupils who have to contend with disruptions to the academic calendar.

"We have tried to report at the county offices, so we get to buy part of the land where our houses are, instead of paying rent for the rest of our lives," one resident spoke to the press.

"The owner of this place is involved with people in authority, that is what has delayed these cases for so long," he added.

In the past three months, the parents called for the police to investigate the incident and bring to book the culprits responsible for the wrangles.
