The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a four-day traffic disruption along the Mombasa road.
Commencing from June 13 to June 16, road users traversing the route should anticipate disruptions near Katani Road Junction along the lanes headed towards Mombasa.
KeNHA has attributed this traffic interruption to the construction of the mid-span footbridge foundation along this bustling highway.
Motorists planning to utilise this road during this period are advised to exercise caution while driving through the area to prevent inconveniencing the workers.
According to the authority, police officers and traffic martials will be deployed on the site to help manage the traffic flow.
“KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” KeNHA noted.
The announcement comes barely a fortnight after the authority issued a similar advisory announcing the partial closure of the same highway.
In the May 31 advisory, KeNHA noted the closure, slated to last for three days, would impact both lanes heading to Nairobi, starting Friday, May 31, at 8 pm until Monday, June 3, at 6 am.
Similarly, the authority announced that the same road section would undergo closure in the Mombasa-bound lanes from June 7, at 8 pm to Monday, June 10, at 6 am.
In light of the announcement, motorists have been urged to heed traffic signs and approach the two affected lanes with caution.
Additionally, KeNHA has disclosed plans to deploy police officers and traffic marshals to assist motorists in navigating through this section of the road.
