According to the LSK President, they were following up on his release after he was unlawfully arrested and was not found in different police stations.

She added that earlier on they were informed that Billy was at a certain location but upon follow up he was not found. Later on, she got a tip-off on Billy's locations and the society acted to ensure the individual was released.

"I want to confirm that Billy is safe and sound, I hope you can confirm that this is Billy. As LSK we had gotten a notification earlier, we thought Billy was released but when we sent someone to the station we found that Billy was not there and had not been booked."

"The moment we got a tip-off, we ran immediately to try and find Billy," she revealed.

After his release, Billy took to X to thank Odhiambo for doing everything to ensure his safety and release.

Odhiambo was also lauded by other leaders, human rights groups and X influencers for ensuring that Billy had been released safely.

Since his arrest, Kenyans on X had begun to demand his release. On Saturday over 50,000 Kenyans were part of an X space to discuss the whereabouts of Crazy Nairobi.

Notably, he was among other young Kenyans who have been arrested since the national demonstrations began last week opposing the controversial Finance Bill 2024.
