About five people died on Thursday evening in a tragic road accident involving three matatus in Gilgil, Nakuru County.
The accident occurred when a matatu en route to Gilgil from Naivasha lost control and rammed into two other oncoming vehicles.
A police report revealed that the driver of the matatu that caused the accident was driving in the wrong lane.
Following the incident, a rescue operation was launched immediately, with the Kenya Red Cross confirming it had dispatched rescuers to the scene.
While confirming the accident, the Kenya Red Cross disclosed that about 20 passengers had suffered critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
